Imago was only introduced in Slovenia recently. In 1999, the first translation of Getting the Love You Want was published, and in 2001, Jette Simon had the first couple’s weekend here. Out of this weekend workshop, three people started the partnership therapist course held in Croatia. Meta Tavčar, Rudi Tavčar and Andrej Trampuš completed the course.

Meta and Rudi have been counseling couples, especially younger ones, for fifteen years. Since we began our Imago education and started to use Imago principles in our speeches and counseling work, our practice has grown.

We established the Mirabi (www.mirabi.org) Institute, where we practice Imago counseling. For three years, we had led annual weekend workshops, and in March, we led our first couple’s weekend. We are also continuing our study in singles’ therapy and workshop presenting.

Our marketing efforts have included the following:

• We hold public speeches in schools and various associations, approximately two to four each month.
• We promote Imago on our website.
• We were interviewed by several magazines and by national radio.
• We had two live radio talk shows on national radio, with one in primetime.
• We had a one-hour talk show on Slovenian national TV.
• Several times a year, we send out leaflets and e-mail news to our mailing list.

We have no formal organization of Imago practitioners. Our goal is to establish the Imago institute in Slovenia, to practice counseling, continue with public speeches and weekend workshops, and organize future training for new Imago therapists.
