Imago Social Action Programs
Julie Drezner

This organization was founded with a mission to change the world, one relationship at a time. Close to the heart of the Board is the challenge of how to bring the power of Imago to transform the lives of those who can’t afford professional help.

This year the Board formed a Development Committee, chaired by Julie Drezner, who has a strong background in foundations and program development for nonprofits. The work is supported by Mary Giovinazzo, working on staff part-time. Mary’s first task was to reach out to the community to find out what we were already doing to help our communities. We will include a full report in a future issue of Imago World. . . .

What we learned from our survey helps us to build our fundraising strategy around the programs which seem to be most effective at reaching out to communities, and where funds are most needed. The Development committee has initially identified several projects where we will develop an outline plan and statement of needs which we can present to potential donors. These include:

  • Peace project – in need of a coordinator and support for travel
  • Couplehood as a Spiritual Path – to promote this low access cost program widely to church communities
  • Scholarship Fund – to enable economically disadvantaged couples to attend the workshops
  • Research into Imago effectiveness

The plan is to quickly create information for potential donors, identify possible sources of funds, and to move quickly into asking for support.
