Reading about relationships is a great start. If you have read much about Imago, you may wonder “what else do I need?”
Attending a weekend workshop provides a much deeper way of exploring this material.
It provides a safe and focused environment where you and your partner can develop a much clearer understanding of the story of your own relationship. You will discover why you were attracted to each other, and why the delight of your early romance leads to later periods of frustration and struggle.
But most of all, in a weekend workshop we can demonstrate and explain how the Imago Dialogue can help you turn these struggles into an opportunity for deeper connection. You have the option to work on your own privately, volunteer for a leader facilitated demonstration to the group, or quietly accept a little guidance during the practice time.
Imago often looks very simple, but we find that seeing the work demonstrated, and accepting a little guidance on the way can make a huge difference.
Often one or both partners feel unwilling to show up to a weekend workshop, worrying that you may have to share your private live with others. But don’t worry – any sharing is completely optional. You can often learn a great deal from being with a group though, and hearing from others who may face the same challenge as you. |
